Cantonment board JE faces suspension

SOLAN: Amrish Kumar, alias Jolly, a Junior Engineer (JE), posted with the Cantonment Board, Subathu faces suspension after he was arrested by the CBI for accepting bribe of Rs 70,000 from a contractor on Wednesday evening.

Amrish Kumar, alias Jolly, a Junior Engineer (JE), posted with the Cantonment Board, Subathu faces suspension after he was arrested by the CBI for accepting bribe of Rs 70,000 from a contractor on Wednesday evening. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the said officer.

Confirming the news Chief Executive Officer, Cantonment Board Tanu Jain said a letter has been written to the CBI officials seeking details of his arrest and he would be suspended as per the rules. She informed that the officer had earlier too remained suspended on corruption charges. Amrish is a JE working with the Cantonment Board at Subathu and he is not an employee of the Central PWD which was inadvertently mentioned in these columns on Thursday. — TNS
