Chandigarh Carnival kicks off

Handwriting analysis and mind reading were crowd pullers at the opening day of the three-day Chandigarh Carnival. Even UT Adviser Vijay Kumar Dev went to experts to get his handwriting analysed. He wrote on a piece of paper ‘I am proud to be a citizen of the Chandigarh smart city’, reacting to which the expert predicted that his childhood was more relaxing.

More than 700 people turned up at the inaugural day of the carnival. The visitors enjoyed games, food and yoga. Jewellery and interior decoration items were also on display. The carnival procession was a big attraction for children. The procession was flagged off by the UT Adviser from Matka Chowk and it passed through MLA Chowk, UT Guest House, Secretariat and Government College of Art.

UT Tourism Director Jatinder Yadav said this time the department had set up a single kiosk based on the theme of the carnival but they would set up more kiosks next year.
