Ropar, February 5

A day after polling, Congress candidates Charanjit Singh Channi and Brinder Singh Dhillon from Chamkaur Sahib and Ropar, respectively, started their day with paying obeisance at gurdwaras.

Channi first paid obeisance at Gurdwara Katalgarh Sahib in Chamkaur Sahib and later went to attend a kabaddi tournament in Khabran village where he was invited as a chief guest.

Similarly, Dhillon from Ropar paid obeisance at Gurdwara Singh Shaheedan at Mohali. He said he would spend the day with his family.

AAP candidate Dr Charanjit Singh from Chamkaur Sahib conducted an eye check-up camp at Anandpur Sahib today where he carried out 30 eye surgeries. The camp was organised by Sant Dumeliwale.

Congress candidate Rana KP Singh from Anandpur Sahib preferred to stay at home today and resumed perusal of book “Bunch of Thoughts” authored by RSS ideologue MS Golwalkar. He was reading it when his ticket was announced and had to leave it to concentrate on campaigning that time, he added.

BJP candidate from Anandpur Sahib Dr Parminder Sharma was busy making preparations for his daughter’s wedding today. He had fixed the marriage for February 5 before the party decided to field him dropping sitting MLA MM Mittal. He was busy making calls to the guests who could not be contacted earlier due to the hectic schedule of campaigning.

State Education Minister and SAD nominee from Ropar Daljit Singh Cheema left home in the morning to attend marriage functions in Nurpur Bedi.
