SHIMLA: The CITU yesterday proposed that the state government should increase daily wages of workers and increase the minimum pay by linking it with the price index.

Shimla, February 18

The CITU yesterday proposed that the state government should increase daily wages of workers and increase the minimum pay by linking it with the price index.

CITU president Jagat Ram demanded that the government should increase the pay of the mid-day meal and ASHA workers to Rs 6,000 per month. Anganwadi workers should get Rs 7,000 while helpers should get Rs 4,000 per month as the government had promised earlier, Ram said. — TNS
