Shimla, April 24

CITU workers along with the 28 ousted workers of the Auckland House school today staged a protest against the Deputy Commissioner who imposed Section 144 banning protests around the school.

Addressing protesters, CITU leader Rakesh Singha accused the DC of being partisan in imposing the ban on the protest. The DC had imposed Section 144 around the school just because his son was studying there. He did not try to sort out the matter between the removed school workers and the school management.

Singha claimed the workers were removed in violation of labour laws as they were the school employees and still possessed accommodation on the campus. The workers and CITU had got the support of the parents whose children were studying in the school, he claimed.

On the other hand, the DC refuted allegations saying that it was not because his son studying there but the concern of over 1,700 schoolchildren and their parents who had been suffering due to the protest.
