With the minimum temperature of 11.4 °Celsius, which was five notches above normal, the city experienced the warmest night of the month. In the past 15 days, the minimum temperature was recorded between seven and nine degrees in the city. Also, there was fog in the evening.

Met Department Director Surinder Pal Singh said in the past, the minimum temperature touched 13.2 degree Celsius in January 2007. But this month, this is the warmest night with the highest minimum temperature.

The city received 2.7 mm rainfall today and more rain was expected in the next 24 hours as per the Met Department. As per the forecast for Tuesday, there will be partly cloudy sky and rain is expected in the tricity. The maximum temperature expected will be 19 ° Celsius and minimum temperature 7 ° Celsius.

On Monday, the maximum temperature recorded was 19.3 ° Celsius which is two notches below normal. Meanwhile, 15 flights and five trains were delayed due to the foggy weather today.
