CM announces subdivision at Dheera in Sulah constituency

Kangra district has got another subdivision. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today announced another subdivision at Dheera in Sulah Assembly constituency. With this, the number of subdivisions in Kangra district has gone up to 14.

During the stint of the previous BJP government there were eight subdivisions in Kangra district. The present government has announced six new subdivisions in Kangra at Fatehpur, Indora, Jawalamukhi, Shahpur, Nagrota Bagwan and now Deera in Sulah Assembly constituency. Kangra district had 15 Assembly constituencies. Now just one Assembly constituency, Jaswan Paragpur is without a subdivision. All other Assembly constituencies will have subdivisions as per the announcements of the government.

Sources here said that initially Kangra district had just four subdivisions at Kangra, Nurpur, Dehra and Palampur. However, now each old subdivision has been divided into three to four subdivisions.

The Chief Minister, who was on a visit to Sulah assembly constituency, announced upgradation of the health sub centre at Darang to primary health centre, sanctioned an IPH subdivision at Sulah and a veterinary dispensary at Bhattu.

At Darang, the CM said that the state had sufficient number of districts and there was no need to create new ones.

Earlier, Virbhadra Singh inaugurated a bridge over Dumela Khad on link road from Bhadal Devi to Saloh at Bhadal Devi and a science block on the premises of Rana Man Chand Memorial GSSS, Sulah.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stones of a science block at Government Degree College, Naura, a CHC building at Dheera, Span Bridges over Neugal Khad on Sulah Jhajjar Parour road and over Tahal Khad on Panaper Har to Kholi road. He, also, inaugurated a 33KV sub-station at Darang.

Chief Parliamentary Secretary Jagjivan Pal, while welcoming the chief minister and other guests, said that Sulah constituency saw a new era of development during tenures of the Congress Governments under Virbhadra Singh. He thanked for announcing of an SDM office for Sulah constituency.

MLAs Sanjay Rattan and Yadvindra Goma, chairman, KCCB, Jagdeesh Sapiya, and chairman HP Board of School Education and vice chairman, HP Forest Development Corporation, Kewal Singh Pathania, were among the prominent persons present on the occasion.
