Cong men clash during road show

TARN TARAN: Congressmen clashed with each other during a road show in favour of party candidate from Tarn Taran Dr Dharmveer Agnihotri in Gandiwind, 30 km from here, today.

Congressmen clashed with each other during a road show in favour of party candidate from Tarn Taran Dr Dharmveer Agnihotri in Gandiwind, 30 km from here, today.

When the convoy of Agnihotri, who was leading the show, reached Gandiwind township, a party worker raised slogan in favour of party leader Babbu Gandiwind.

Another leader Ranjit Singh Gandiwind raised objection over raising slogan in favour of his rival Babbu. A verbal dual ensued between workers of both local leaders that turned violent. Turbans of both Ranjit Singh Gandiwind and Babbu Gandiwind, besides some others, were tossed in the incident. Some of the party workers were injured in the clash. Inspector Kamalmeet Singh said workers from both sides had been admitted to hospitals. The SHO said Ranjit Singh had lodged a complaint with the police.
