Former BJP MLA Balbir Chaudhary today alleged that Rajesh Kumar, a forest contractor, booked for illegal felling of trees at Ambehra Dheeraj village of Amb subdvision was getting political patronage. The Forest Department had registered an FIR against him for illegally cutting 15 khair trees in the village four days ago.
In a press note issued here, Balbir Chaudhary said the forest contractor was known for his close proximity with Congress leaders of Chintpurni segment and was even present in party functions. He alleged that mining, land, drug and liquor mafias were politically patronised by the Congress government.
The former MLA said two anchayat members of Ambehra Dheeraj village, Sushma Devi and Anjana Devi, who informed the Forest Department, were felicitated for bravery by the local BJP leaders.
