CS visits Asan wetland to review bird flu threat

DEHRADUN: Uttarakhand Chief Secretary N Ravishankar yesterday visited Asan Wetland in Dehradun to oversee preparations on part of the Forest and Animal Husbandry Departments to meet any exigency.

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary N Ravishankar yesterday visited Asan Wetland in Dehradun to oversee preparations on part of the Forest and Animal Husbandry Departments to meet any exigency.

Ravishankar spent a considerable time at the Asan Wetland and sought details from the forest staff, which is on the round-the-clock monitoring of the wetland.

The Chief Secretary directed officials of the Forest and Animal Husbandry to be prepared for any eventuality.

He asked them to keep the birds under strict observation and take a note immediately if they come across any abnormal behaviour among birds.

Ravishankar was accompanied by senior officials of the Forest and Animal Husbandry Departments.
