Jhajjar, April 26
The next of kin of a schoolboy who succumbed to his injuries at a hospital disrupted vehicular traffic for over two hours at Bahadurgarh in Jhajjar district today. They placed his body in the middle of the Rohtak road in the town.
The protesters demanded the registration of a murder case in this regard. They stated that 17-year-old Sachin of Vikas Nagar had not died in a road mishap and had been murdered. They agreed to lift the road blockade after the police assured them of probing the case with the probability of murder.
Sources said Sachin, a Class XII student at DAV Public School, was admitted to a private hospital in Bahadurgarh on April 14 with multiple injury marks. The police had registered a case of road accident on the complaint of Sachin’s friend Nikhil.
“Sachin left his house for tuition on April 14. After some time, they got information about the accident. Nikhil and another friend were with Sachin at the time of the incident, but were missing ever since,” said Sachin’s mother Bimla.
She pointed out that it was a case of murder as Sachin had suffered severe injuries in his private parts. Demanding thorough investigation into the matter, the protesters sought interrogation of Nikhil and the unidentified friend to find out the veracity of the accident claim.
Bahadurgarh DSP Bhagat Ram said Sachin’s next of kin had lodged a complaint of murder in this respect. “Further action will be taken on the basis of investigation report,” he stated.
