Dialogue alone can solve K-issue, says Karra

Srinagar, April 30

Senior Congress leader Tariq Hameed Karra has taken a frontline role as an ambassador of peace and dialogue in Kashmir with his own party leadership. In the last few days, he met all top party leaders and apprised them of the current crisis in Kashmir.

“I am doing this work as a party worker and a Kashmiri whose interest is in peace and solution to the Kashmir issue by holding talks across the table with stakeholders who are interested in the welfare of the state,” he said.“The atmosphere is filled with stones and the ricocheting of bullets,” he said.

“Kashmir needs a new narrative in which dialogue and peace become the centerpiece of resolving the Kashmir crisis. That is my objective,” he added.

“I will knock on every door to tell people about the pain that Kashmir is going through. Our job is to work for reconciliation and not confrontation. But we will not compromise on the integrity of the state or its communal harmony,” he said.

”There is a road map and that passes through dialogue only. Unless that happens, we shall be landing nowhere,” he added. — TNS
