The DNA test has confirmed that the body found near the lift in August 2016, was that of Dhruv Lakhanpal of Lower Bazaar, who went missing on December 7, 2015.

Sources at the State Forensic Laboratory, Junga, said the DNA profiling of the body parts matched with the blood stains found on the carpet at the deceased’s house and his parents. The report has been sent to the CID crime branch, they added.

The parents of the missing boy had filed a petition in the court in September 2016, alleging police inaction in tracing their son who went missing on December 7, 2015. Subsequently, the court handed over the investigation in the case to the CID.
