Election booths set up for receiving nominations

Election booths for submitting nomination forms for the Assembly seats in Tehri Garhwal were designated during a meeting chaired by District Magistrate Indudhar Baudai at New Tehri today.

The District Magistrate said the booths had been designated for the candidates from respective constituencies who would submit their nomination papers to returning officers. He said for the Ghansali (SC) seat, the booth was situated at the third floor in front of the Treasury Department in the district administration building at New Tehri, for Devprayag in cell No. 4 at the District Magistrate’s office building, for Pratap Nagar seat the nomination booth had been set up at the meeting hall of the Tehsil building, for Narendar Nagar at the Additional District Magistrate’s office building, for Tehri at the cell situated in ADM office and for Dhanaulti in the rehabilitation office building district administration office.

He said the area had been barricaded for free and fair elections. Tight security will be maintained throughout the election process and additional police force has been deployed at all sensitive booths in the district. The candidates are allowed with a maximum of three vehicles while filing the papers.
