Family feud turns bloody

KANGRA: A 72-year-old man, who was seriously injured following an attack by his son with a sharp-edged weapon at Dhayana village on April 20, succumbed to his injuries at Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College at Tanda last night.

A 72-year-old man, who was seriously injured following an attack by his son with a sharp-edged weapon at Dhayana village on April 20, succumbed to his injuries at Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College at Tanda last night.

Kangra district police chief Sanjeev Gandhi said Swaran Singh, his wife and son Shamsheer were sleeping on April 20 when Shamsheer got up and attacked his father with a sharp-edged weapon.

The SSP said the reason was family dispute. He said the victim was rushed to Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, where he died last night. He said the accused has been arrested and further investigations were on.
