SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh Seb Utpadak Sangh (HPSUS) today accused the state government of importing “virus-infested plant material from Italy even though virus free e-clones series of plant material are available in countries like the UK.

The Himachal Pradesh Seb Utpadak Sangh (HPSUS) today accused the state government of importing “virus-infested plant material from Italy even though virus free e-clones series of plant material are available in countries like the UK.

The Department of Horticulture, which had conducted a fresh inquiry into the presence of virus in some imported plant material from Italy assured farmers that they would be given the latest virus-free plant material under the Rs 1,143 crore horticulture project. — TNS
