Haridwar, April 25

A major portion of shooting of an upcoming religious film, based on saint Ravidas of 15th century, will be done in Haridwar.

Noted director and writer Arvind Singh Sirohi today said, owing to the religious aspect of Haridwar and Varanasi, he had selected these holy cities for shooting of the film.

Sirohi has assisted in direction of several films and mythological, historical television serials produced under BR Chopra Productions.

Being produced by Satya On Line Productions, this venture will be the second major film based on the revered saint. The first such film was released in 1983.

“We will also give a chance to local artistes apart from popular and senior actors. Script research and screenplay is being done extensively,” said Sirohi.

Purushottam Sharma, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Satya On Line Productions, said he had been trying to bring Uttarakhand onto the film shooting map, where many reality shows, movies and television serials produced under the banner had been shot in various locales of the hill state.
