Four make it to ‘Million Dollar kick’

DEHRADUN: Young footballers from the state joined the qualifiers for the finals of the “Million Dollar Kick” which is gaining a lot of popularity among the youth across the country.

Young footballers from the state joined the qualifiers for the finals of the “Million Dollar Kick” which is gaining a lot of popularity among the youth across the country.

With more than 50-60 youngsters turning up for the “Million Dollar Kick” city try outs in Dehradun, which was the third centre to hold such a competition, there was a lot of excitement and stiff competition at the Pavilion Ground in the city.

Many youngsters, who were not even taking part, turned out to see the trials, which could send an Indian to the US for the National Football League training and coaching.

Besides, the organisers also picked a wildcard. The wildcard recipient impressed the selectors with his persistence after having figured in the Delhi try outs also. Those making the grade from Dehradun were Shubham Bisht, Gaurav Rawat, Shubham Rawat and wildcard Shashank Mamgain.—TNS
