Mandi, April 23

Fourlane Sangharsh Samiti has threatened to sue NHAI for violating Land Acquisition Act 2013.

Chairperson of Sangharsh Samiti Brigadier Khushal Thakur (Retd) said the samiti would sue the NHAI and the officials concerned under Section 87 of the Land Acquisition Act 2013 for their failure to implement the Act in right full spirit for acquisition of farmers land between Nagchala and Manali for fourlanning project.

“The officers of the NHAI and land acquisition process are being subjected to severe contempt of the High Court’s October 4, 2016 orders and the provisions of Land Acquisition Act 2013”, he remarked.

“False information is being given to the Honorable High Court Himachal Pradesh. Truth is being hidden by the NHAI, the concerned officials and the administration”, he added.

He said that rehabilitation and compensation was not provided to the affected people and the market value of the land had not been fixed at the current market price by the district collectors of Mandi and Kullu as per law, while notices have been served to the people to vacate their property within 60 days. The state government was providing factor (1) whereas there is a provision for Factor II in law for rural areas to provide the compensation. In this way the entire law is being shaken.

He said that the matter would be brought to the notice of the honorable High Court Himachal Pradesh. A case would soon be filed against the NHAI and all the concerned officials in the High Court.
