Funds okayed for payment of arrears to sweepers

The Haryana Government has sanctioned over Rs 15.22 crore to gram panchayats for improving the sanitary conditions in villages.

The Haryana Government has sanctioned over Rs 15.22 crore to gram panchayats for improving the sanitary conditions in villages.

The funds would be used for payment of remuneration to sweepers at the rate of Rs 10,000 per month. An official spokesman said funds would be distributed among 10,200 sweepers in 21 districts.

As many as 516 sweepers in Ambala district, 788 in Bhiwani, 430 in Fatehabad, 217 in Faridabad, 444 in Palwal, 325 in Gurugram, 662 in Hisar, 454 in Jhajjar, 594 in Jind, 489 in Kaithal, 635 in Karnal, 514 in Kurukshetra, 476 in Mahendragarh, 578 in Mewat, 184 in Panchkula, 356 in Panipat, 494 in Rewari, 321 in Rohtak, 533 in Sirsa, 559 in Sonepat and 631 in Yamunanagar district would be given remuneration for the month of February along with arrears of the previous three months.
