Govt has failed to benefit from Central aid: Dhumal

SHIMLA: Former Chief Minister PK Dhumal today said that despite the complete backing and cooperation from the Centre, Himachal had failed to benefit from the assistance extended by the BJP- led NDA regime.

Shimla, April 27

Former Chief Minister PK Dhumal today said that despite the complete backing and cooperation from the Centre, Himachal had failed to benefit from the assistance extended by the BJP- led NDA regime.

“It is our misfortune that despite full support and help from the Centre, works on Central projects have failed to take off,” said Dhumal while addressing the rally on the Ridge. He lamented that the detailed project reports (DPRs) of the national highways and other schemes had not been prepared.

Dhumal said whether it was the BJP-led NDA regime headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee or the present Modi regime, Himachal’s interest had always been protected. “It was Vajpayee who gave the special industrial package, special financial assistance and special category status to Himachal where funding was given in the ratio of 90:10,” he stated.
