Former Haryana Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda has termed the INLD’s move to dig the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal “an attempt to get publicity”.
“Khodney gaye thhey nehar, paad aaye sadak,” Hooda quipped while addressing a newsconference at his residence here today.
Hooda said the digging of the SYL canal could be ensured only by putting pressure on the Centre. He said after the Supreme Court’s verdict, the Centre was bound to get the canal constructed.
“Hence, the Haryana government as well as the Opposition should put pressure on the Centre to get it done in the larger interest of the state,” he asserted.
