Inter-cadre transfers banned

The state government on Wednesday banned the inter-cadre transfers of all employees with immediate effect. According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, all administrative secretaries and heads of departments had been directed to adhere to the provisions contained in SRO 343 of 2004 and asked not to issue any order, transferring employees from one district or divisional cadre to another district or divisional cadres.

Music workshop begins

A 10-day music workshop organised by the Nirvana Academy, a theatre group for children, was inaugurated on Wednesday. The workshop was organised in collaboration with the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. Kuldeep Kumar, music composer, accompanied by Chandani Kaur, Dogri folk singer, conducted the workshop. The aim of the workshop was to bring awareness among the participants about the basics of Dogri regional and folk music. The participants were also taught Dogri songs, ghazals and poetry.
