Kisan Aayog chief bats for organic farming

KARNAL: Dr Ramesh Yadav, Chairman, Haryana Kisan Aayog, emphasised on organic farming based on cattle at the Regional Research Station of Choudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University at Uchani yesterday. He said it would give more benefits to farmers.

Dr Ramesh Yadav, Chairman, Haryana Kisan Aayog, emphasised on organic farming based on cattle at the Regional Research Station of Choudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University at Uchani yesterday. He said it would give more benefits to farmers.

He reviewed the organic research experiments at the centre. He said organic farming could contribute a lot to the income of farmers as well as the health of the people.

Regional Director Dr Samar Singh highlighted the research activities being carried out by the station. He informed Yadav about the varieties of maize and sugarcane developed by the station.

Yadav stressed the value addition in crops and crop diversification. He said rice could be replaced by maize for saving water and soil resources. He also highlighted the merits of cow dung and urine.
