Mandi ZP gets nat’l award

MANDI: The Mandi Zila Parishad (ZP) was conferred with the national award 2015-16 under the Panchayat Empowerment and Accountability Incentive Scheme (PEAIS) on National Panchayati Raj Day in Lucknow of Uttar Pradesh today.

The Mandi Zila Parishad (ZP) was conferred with the national award 2015-16 under the Panchayat Empowerment and Accountability Incentive Scheme (PEAIS) on National Panchayati Raj Day in Lucknow of Uttar Pradesh today.

District panchayat officer Girish Summra said the office-bearers of the ZP received the award in Lucknow today, where UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was the chief guest of the event. It was for the first time that the ZP had been selected for the award.

He said a Zila Parishad was selected for this award if it effectively implemented the policies of the Panchayati Raj Institutions. — TNS
