Ambala, April 30

Unruly scenes were witnessed at the Circuit House in Ambala Cantonment when some women were not allowed to meet Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar regarding their complaint here today.

The CM was about to leave after holding a meeting with public representatives when the women tried to approach him but were not allowed. Unhappy, one of them started smashing her hands on the CM’s vehicle. She was pushed back by the security staff facilitating the departure of the CM’s convoy.

The women, residents of Topkhana Bazzar, alleged, “The police were not taking action against a financier, who was not returning their money. A FIR was registered against him and the case is pending in the court but the police have not been producing the challan. The accused is out on bail.”

Minister of State Nayab Saini, who was present on this occasion, listened to their grievance and assured that he will raise the issue with the authorities concerned.

The Topkhana police post incharge said, “A case was registered against the accused in 2015. It is a multi-crore fraud involving a large number of people and the matter is still being investigated. Challans have been presented against the accused. Another challan will presented in the court soon.”
