One killed in road mishap

SOLAN: One person was killed while another injured when the truck they were travelling in fell into a gorge in the Banaur area of Sirmaur district yesterday.

One person was killed while another injured when the truck they were travelling in fell into a gorge in the Banaur area of Sirmaur district yesterday.

The truck was engaged in carrying quarry material and as per preliminary investigations over-speeding led to the accident.

The victim has been identified as Atma Ram, while injured Shyam Lal was taken to a hospital at Paonta Sahib.

A case under Sections 279, 337 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the driver and further investigations are on, said the police.
