A city-based designer Haneet Singh presented his collection titled “The Victorian Summer” during a Fashion Fiesta 2016 in Jaipur recently.

The collection was a blend of ethnic and contemporary fashion. The designer complimented Indian women through their outfits.

Dedicating his collection to Indian women, he said, “It’s my tribute to the Indian woman, who is independent, classy, full of energy, and wants to make an impact with her achievements.”

He used Indian and Italian georgette, besides Korean net, for garments. Bollywood actress Aarti Chhabria, who was the showstopper for the collection, showcased a Victorian layered outfit adorned with zardosi and resham work.

Haneet’s collection includes Western stitched sarees with shrug blouse, crops and peplum with high waisted skirts, heavy-flared skirt with floor length, kalidars offshoulders and cold shoulders gowns, besides a lot more.

Haneet said the colour of collection was altogether a new pastel. The palette had hues like ice blue, champagne, onion pink, powder peach, steel grey and gold, he added.

Designer Navneet Kaur, also from Ludhiana, along with Haneet made the collection with subtle intricate hand works with appliqués and tone to tone 3D work with cut dana beads and sworoski elements. They used various fabrics, including organza, chiffon, net, satin, georgette, velvet, lycra and crape. All Punjab work was in Western style.
