As part of an energy-efficient programme UJALA (Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All), the Haryana power distribution companies today launched LED tubelights and fans.
Shatrujeet Kapur, Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD), Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, launched 20 W LED tubelights and 50 W fans in Panchkula state office.
The discoms have set a target to sell 30 lakh LED tubelights and 5 lakh fans in six months. It will help the authorities in saving 14.7 crore units annually.
Consumers have to pay a one-time cost of Rs230 for a tubelight and Rs 1,150 for a fan. The market price of a tubelight varies between Rs400 and Rs500 and that of a fan, between Rs1,600 and Rs1,800. — TNS
