PSPCL pays Rs 5 lakh to Abohar burns victim

ABOHAR: The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited today (PSPCL) paid Rs 5,15,700 to a victim of severe injuries due to low- lying high tension wires.

Abohar, March 24

The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited today (PSPCL) paid Rs 5,15,700 to a victim of severe injuries due to low- lying high tension wires. The compensation was recently awarded by the court of SDJM Amrish Kumar here on a petition filed by Sukhraj Singh of Dhani Nayianwali located on Abohar-Dharampura road.

The victim said he was reversing a private bus near Pattisadiq village last year when low -lying high tension wires touched the vehicle and he was badly burnt due to the power current that passed through the bus. Both his feet and an arm had to be amputated and he lost his means of a livelihood. Sukhraj was escorted by his family to the court complex to receive the compensation amount cheque. — OC
