Jitender Kumar, a dentist, who was killed reportedly in a “television” blast at Kunja Matralia village of the Paonta Sahib area of Sirmaur district on Saturday, was killed due to electrocution.
Superintendent of Police (SP), Sirmaur, Souyma Sambasivan, while confirming the news, said the report of the post-mortem examination had confirmed that the death had occurred due to electrocution and no foul play had come to the fore.
Police investigations had revealed that the deceased had tried to switch on the electrical gadget with his wet hands and got electrocuted as a short-circuit had occurred owing to over-heating of the switch.
He suffered grievous burn injuries which proved fatal and he fell in front of the television which blasted in the process. The sudden blast had broken the window panes of the room.
Jitender, the deceased, hailed from the Mandi district. He was an intern at a private dental college at Paonta Sahib.
