Residents block traffic

Residents of Halehar village today held a protest near Jaisinghpur against the murder of a village youth. They were demanding arrest of the accused.

The youth’s body was found at an abandoned place near the village this morning. As soon as the news of murder reached the victim’s village, hundreds of men, women and children came on the Alampur-Jaisinghpur state highway and blocked the vehicular traffic for hours.

The SHO of Lambagaon along with police force reached the site and persuaded the agitators to lift the blockade. The police have registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC against unknown persons. No arrest has been made so far. A police spokesman told mediapersons that police parties had been sent to different directions to nab the culprits
