UNA, MARCH 19

BJP state president Satpal Singh Satti today said the decision of the state government to hike the toll being charged on vehicles entering the state was unjustified.

In a press note issued here, he said the proposed hike from the new financial year was substantial and would put a financial burden on people living in the border districts since they frequently cross inter-state barriers for work and jobs.

Satti said the decision to hike the toll tax had been done without taking the opposition into confidence, which showed the autocratic and dictatorial attitude of the Congress government. He demanded that the government should give relaxation to vehicles belonging to Himachal Pradesh.

Terming the decision as anti-people, the BJP president said after coming to power in the state, their party would roll back the hike. He, however, said if the government goes ahead with the decision to hike toll tax, the opposition will launch state wide protests.
