Rs 10 cr to be spent on Broni khad channelisation

SHIMLA: Broni khad at Jhakri in Rampur Sub Division of Shimla district will be channelized and improved to check landslides in the vicinity.

Broni khad at Jhakri in Rampur Sub Division of Shimla district will be channelized and improved to check landslides in the vicinity. Both sides of the khad will be compacted with concrete lining to ensure uninterrupted traffic on this route, said Chief Parliamentary Secretary Nand Lal while presiding over a meeting of state level NJPC and Baspa Relief and Rehabilitation Committee meeting here yesterday.

It will be a big relief for farmers and orchardists of the area to carry their produce to other parts of the state. A sum of Rs 10 crore will be spent on this work. A sum of Rs 2 crores have been released.

He asked the SJVNL administration to ensure 70 per cent employment to locals.

Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue Tarun Shridhar asked concerned revenue officers to ensure allotment of plots to the oustees strictly as per the revenue records. He asked the officers to ensure ownership rights to the oustees and settle the issue within three months.
