CHANDIGARH: Samples of dead crows found in Tarn Taran and migratory birds in Faridkot have been tested negative for avian influenza virus (H5N1).



Chandigarh, December 26

Samples of dead crows found in Tarn Taran and migratory birds in Faridkot have been tested negative for avian influenza virus (H5N1). The report of samples of bar-headed geese found dead in Jind district of Haryana is awaited.

Dr Vinay Mohan, Joint Director, Regional Diseases Diagnostic Laboratory, Jalandhar, said: “We have also received samples of chicken that died mysteriously in Shimla last night. The samples were sent to the National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases Laboratory, Bhopal.” — TNS
