Shimla town has been experiencing snow since Monday morning.
A fresh spell of snow began in the state capital since 7 am. Kufri, Fagu, the Ridge, the Mall, Jhakhoo Hill, Sanjauli and New Shimla have been experiencing snow, which brought the movement of traffic in suburban areas to a standstill.
Shimla Municipal Corporation has launched snow-clearing operation on Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital to keep the movement of ambulance going to take care of the medical emergency.
The traffic on the Chandigarh-Shimla highway till Tutikandi bus stand is on but it may be disrupted as snows snow is fast piling up on the road.
Electric supply so far was not affected, said Mayor Sanjay Chauhan.
Meanwhile, deputy commissioners have been asked to give an hourly report on the situation in their areas to the state-level disaster management authority.
