Mandi, January 16

Fresh snowfall in tribal Lahaul and Spiti has crippled normal life in the district. Keylong received 10 cm snow till evening, while Koksar and Miyar valley received three-feet of snow. The water supply has been badly affected in the region.

The roads opened for traffic movement after snowfall last week are closed once again. Residents of Koksar, Dimpuk and Ramthang villages have shifted to Kullu or some other place to escape winter woes. They lamented lack of basic facilities to help them survive winter in their villages.

The district administration has issued an advisory to the area residents to avoid venturing out of their homes during the next few days due to the danger of avalanches.
