SP told to help in Theog road construction

The High Court has directed the SP, Shimla, to provide assistance to the authorities concerned for the construction of Theog-Kotkhai-Rohru road. It further directed the SP to take action against those who were causing obstruction in the execution of work.

It was brought to the notice of the court that one person, Rajinder Singh Chauhan, was not allowing officials to comply with the orders passed by the court.

Taking the matter seriously, a Division Bench issued show-cause notice to him under the Contempt of Court Act. Issuing notice, the court observed, “This is a serious matter and clearly amounts to interference with the due process of law as also the violation of the orders.” The court further directed the authorities as well as the Monitoring Committee constituted by it to file fresh status report on the issue of construction of the road.

After hearing the matter, the court listed the matter for further hearing on May 22.
