People not having Aadhaar cards can enrol themselves for the same at special camps organised for school students at schools and anganwari centrrs in the district.

District Magistrate SA Murugesan at a meeting at the Roshanabad Collectorate office issued a directive in this regard here today.

Murugesan sadi by organising special registration camps the administration would achieve the target of 100 per cent Aadhaar cards registration.

The district basic education officer has been made nodal officer who will coordinate and plan the camps. Initial focus will be on those schools where Aadhaar registration percentage is less. The DM has directed the nodal officer to prepare a roster of all schools by Tuesday and set the schedule roster wise for Aadhaar camps April 3 onward.

Murugesan urged parents and school management to cooperate with the administration so that all people can avail benefits of Central and state-run schemes.

Additional District Magistrate (Finance-Revenue) will monitor the Aadhaar registration progress on weekly basis.

The District Magistrate warned the Aadhaar registration companies that if they did not follow the registration schedule during camps, their machines and other equipment will be seized.

The District Food Supplies Officer was also directed to link Aadhaar cards of all ration card holders and their family members by April 30, otherwise fair price shops will not provide ration to them. The Aadhaar card would be mandatory for ration card holders.

Chief Development Officer Dr Meharban Singh Bisht, Additional District Magistrate (Finance-Revenue), Dr Lalit Narayan Mishra, Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Dr Abhishek Tripathi, Sub Divisional Magistrate Manish Kumar, Sub Divisional Magistrate ((Bhagwanpur) Anil Gabriyal, District Basic Education Officer Jag Mohan Soni, District Food Supplies Officer Rahul Sharma, UIDAI representative Anant Mishra and District Social Welfare Officer Deep Raj Agnihotri attended the meeting.
