MANALI: The tourist town of Manali and its adjoining areas experienced a fresh spell of snow today resulting in a considerable fall in the day temperature.

The tourist town of Manali and its adjoining areas experienced a fresh spell of snow today resulting in a considerable fall in the day temperature. Tourists heaved a sigh of relief after the sun made its appearance in the afternoon.

After a fresh spell of snowfall again, a festive atmosphere prevailed at the Nehru Park and the Mall Road as the tourists had fun in the snow.

The entire upper areas of the Manali region were covered with a white blanket of snow. Snow-covered trees, roofs and hills presented a picturesque view for the tourists.

Meanwhile, the PWD has cleared the snow on the Manali-Kullu national highway and the Manali- Naggar (left bank) roads with the help of snow-clearing machines and opened them for vehicular traffic.

The Rohtang Pass also experienced a heavy snowfall. The entire higher reaches of the upper Kullu valley experienced moderate to heavy snowfall. The famous ski slopes of the Solang valley also experienced heavy snowfall. The entire Manali region was in the grip of severe cold wave.
