Tributes paid to freedom fighter

DEHRADUN: Rich tributes were paid to Joga Ram Arya, a freedom fighter, on his 91st birth anniversary at a function held here today.

Rich tributes were paid to Joga Ram Arya, a freedom fighter, on his 91st birth anniversary at a function held here today.

The function was presided over by senior Congress leader Dhirendra Pratap and organised by Arya’s daughter and Congress leader Asha Tamta.

Speakers threw light on his freedom struggle on the occasion. State Congress chief Kishore Upadhyaya remembered him as a great son of the country, who devoted his life for the freedom struggle and development of the poor and downtrodden. A resolution was passed unanimously demanding a memorial at his village in Almora.
