Voter awareness calendar released in Hoshiarpur

Having roped in Pummy Aunty to motivate first-timers to register their votes and bringing poll mascots Hoshiar Singh and Master Syana Singh, the district administration has now come up with a voter awareness calendar.

The 12-page table calendar was released by Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi in Chandigarh on Thursday in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Anindita Mitra.

The calendar has six slogans written by Assistant Commissioner Navneet Kaur Bal.

Mitra said, “The calendar is an attempt to make people aware of their right to vote and encourage them to cast their ballot. We have also released a clip on Lohri, giving the message: ‘Lohri diyan khushian khoob manaiye, phir 4 February nu votan paa ke Punjab nu khush-haal banaiye’.”
