Cases can be settled by arbitration: Judge

Kullu: An awareness camp on arbitration was organised by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) at District Courts Complex here on Wednesday. DLSA chairman and Kullu District and Sessions Judge Prem Pal Ranta presided over the camp.

He said many cases could be resolved by arbitration rather than adopting the judicial process.

He said this would provide quick justice to masses and save their money as well. He appealed to the masses to settle petty disputes by arbitration. He said mutual disputes should be resolved at respective panchayats.

He said office-bearers of the Panchayati Raj Institutions had been endowed with special judicial powers to resolve the mutual disputes of masses. Various other important aspects of arbitration were detailed during the camp. — OC
