The Sessions Judge, Solan, SC Kainthala, today sentenced a man to five-year rigorous imprisonment and imposed a penalty of Rs 50,000 for attempting to murder his relative.

Telu Ram, a resident of Gurdaspura Plasi village in Nalagarh tehsil, had an altercation with his father-in-law Ram Singh on the intervening night of September 26-27, 2010 at Hatra village. He, in an inebriated state, had gone to his in-laws’ place to bring back his wife and recently born son. Ram Singh refused to send his daughter for some time.
