Sangrur, February 20

Fearing attack by a rival gang, the police today produced gangsters — Ajaib Khan and Fateh Singh — in a local court amid heavy security. They were brought from the Nabha jail.

In all, six DSPs, more than seven inspectors and over 40 constables guarded the court premises for more than two hours. “Our teams kept a tight vigil to prevent any untoward incident,” said SSP Inderbir Singh.

The two gangsters were produced in the court in connection with an attempt to murder case registered in Sunam on March 27, 2014. Khan appeared in connection with another case registered under the NDPS Act.
