A victim in the Bhim Tank murder case, Gurjant Singh Janta, reportedly remained silent on the role of liquor baron Shiv Lal Doda in the murder case in cross-examination conducted in a local court here today.

Janta, whose limbs were also chopped off, reiterated in the court today that the crime was committed near Doda’s farmhouse on December 11, 2015, but not on Doda’s farmhouse.

On February 13, Janta allegedly changed his earlier statement recorded at the time of murder of Bhim Tank. Janta had stated that the crime was committed at the Doda farmhouse.

When asked by the defense counsels about Doda’s role in the murder case, he reportedly did not react. The statement of former Abohar SP Harjit Singh, who investigated the case, could not be completed due to shortage of time and deferred to February 23.
