4 held for burglaries, snatchings

CHANDIGARH: The anti-snatching, robbery and dacoity detection cell of the crime branch has arrested four persons who were involved in incidents of burglaries, thefts and snatchings.

The anti-snatching, robbery and dacoity detection cell of the crime branch has arrested four persons who were involved in incidents of burglaries, thefts and snatchings. The police claimed to have solved seven cases with their arrest.

According to the police, a team led by Inspector Amanjot Singh arrested the accused, identified as Omkar, alias Gorila, (20), Pardeep Kumar (21), both residents of Faida village, Kashi Kumar Verma (24) and Mithun (19), both residents of Jagatpura village. The police said they had information that the accused were involved in burglaries and snatchings mostly in the Sector 31 police station area.

The police said during the interrogation of the accused, four cases of burglary, two cases of snatchings and a case of car theft had been solved. A majority of the cases solved are of the Sector 31 police station, while two cases are of Sector 39 police station and a case of Sector 19 police station.
