Delhi man, son killed in accident

FATEHABAD: A man and his son were killed and two others from the family were critically injured, when the car in which they were travelling was hit by a Rajasthan Roadways bus between Dhangar and Badopal villages of Fatehabad today afternoon.

Fatehabad, January 27

A man and his son were killed and two others from the family were critically injured, when the car in which they were travelling was hit by a Rajasthan Roadways bus between Dhangar and Badopal villages of Fatehabad today afternoon.

Those killed in the accident have been identified as Sumit Sharma (27) and his father Rajinder Dutt Sharma (50), residents of the Rohini area of Delhi. Sumit’s mother Lalita and brother Gautam were injured in the accident.

The family had come to Sirsa to attend a wedding and was returning to Delhi in their Maruti Alto when the accident occurred. Sumit, who was driving, tried to overtake another vehicle, when he collided with the bus coming from the opposite side.

Sumit and his father Rajinder Dutt, who was sitting on the rear seat, died on the spot. A police team led by SHO Gaurav Sharma of Sadar Police Station, reached the spot and took the injured to the hospital. The bodies were taken to the Fatehabad general hospital for post-mortem.

12 schoolkids hurt as bus collides with blood bank van

Hisar: Twelve schoolchildren were injured when their school bus collided with the Health Department’s blood bank van near Dhana Kalan village on the Hisar-Narnaund road today.

The private bus was on its way to school, when the van collided with it. The van was on its way to Khanda Kheri village for a blood donation camp where Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was the chief guest.

Hansi SHO Jagbir Singh rushed to the spot and took the injured children to the civil hospital in Hansi. Three of the seriously injured children — Aman, Nisha, Ritu — were referred to the civil hospital at Hisar along with another injured Joginder Kapoor.

DC Chander Shekhar also visited the civil hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured. Civil surgeon Dr Ashok Chaudhary said all students were out of danger.
