Hit by car, man dies

BANUR:A man in mid-40s died after he was allegedly hit by a car near Khizargarh village here on Thursday.

A man in mid-40s died after he was allegedly hit by a car near Khizargarh village here on Thursday.

The accused has been identified as Tarsem Singh, a resident of Khizargarh village, Mohali district. As per information from police sources, the incident took place when the victim, along with his son who had gone to Zirakpur on Thursday morning, was returning home.

The sources said when the victim stopped his motorcycle near Neo Green Dhaba to get something from the shop, he was allegedly hit by a car bearing registration number (PB-11-BH-4033), which was coming from the Banur side.

Tarsem sustained injuries and was rushed to the Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh, where doctors declared him brought dead.

A case has been registered against an unidentified driver at Banur police station.
