Pedestrian killed, 2 hurt in mishaps

Chandigarh, January 15

A pedestrian died while two pedestrians were injured in two separate accidents in the city.

In a hit-and-run, Rajmeet Singh (47), a painter, was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle while he was crossing the road separating Sectors 42 and 36 on Wednesday night.

Passersby informed the police about the accident. The victim was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

A case has been registered in this regard at the Sector 36 police station.

In another case, Shakti Chand, a resident of Sector 40, reported that an unidentified vehicle sped away after hitting him and his wife near the Main Gate, Badheri, Chandigarh. The couple was admitted to the PGI. A case in this regard has been registered at the Sector 39 police station.
